Rounding up the latest #Jewelry from New York Fashion Week Fall 2015 - Marchesa's Over the Top Earrings & Ralph Lauren Statement Necklaces were the highlights!

Posted: Feb 20 2015

Part 2 of my coverage of Jewelry at the New York Fashion Week proved to be a bit more rewarding with Ralph Lauren surprising me again. Styling the statement necklaces and ethnic jewelry on bone coloured knits was organic and kind of refreshing from the overload of 70s fashion and sportswear chic still very present on the runways for Fall 2015.

Next on my list of excitement from the runways are Marchesa's over the top earrings. If anyone knows me, they know that I'm known for my own statement earrings. I never cared what was in style at the time, I'm all about making an impact and voluminous earrings do the trick, don't you agree?

Another recurring theme is the punk rock look only now it seems more sedated with cleaner lines and more 80s music fan vibe. We saw it in Spring 2015's Saint Laurent show - safety pins and pins. I'm still a fan.

Coach's take on the music fan reminds me of my younger years - aw good times!

Yet another designer team that I have discovered this season - I know, I better brush up on my Fashion knowledge.  You can forgive me cz I am more of a jewelry expert!! :) Cushnie & Ochs sent girls in pastel for Fall with streamlined metal cuffs. Simplistic look but with a warrior aspect that we can all still very much embrace!
Jason Wu is a minimalist to start so no surprise with his jewelry choice. I do love it as simple as it is. It has a safety pin feel like our rings - http://www.aquaskye.com/collections/we-love-rocker-chic/products/silver-safety-pin-ring
Nicholas K sent down girls with shoulder fringed bling that I've sold really well in the past when I had the store. Back in the day it was Lydia Lukidis, Montreal designer extraordinaire that created these wonders for us. I'm happy to see the comeback in a most grungy way!
The Blonds are always eccentric and this season's direction is inter-galactic. We love the metallic chokers and cuffs and multiple rings. Yes, it's still a trend that sells well on our website - http://www.aquaskye.com/collections/we-love-rocker-chic/products/solid-gold-metal-ring-set
The Blonds - stellar jewelry!
Zimmerman's cosmic gold choker juxtaposes quite nicely with his classic looks.

This next 70s grunge theme is redundant with the macramé, floral and arts & crafts necklaces. I don't know how long this trend will last but it doesn't do anything for me. That's just my opinion.
