Gucci Spring 2013 - Frida Giannini's Color Explosion - Retro Looks
Posted: Sep 20 2012
So, I opened my email from Vogue Magazine with the usual fashion week picks - today, from Milan, and the first designer show was Gucci. From the moment, I clicked on Photo #1, my heart skipped a beat. The explosion of colors is usually enough for me to fall in love with a line (as I am obsessed with COLOR!) but this time it's Frida Giannini's expert tailoring and cohesiveness that impressed me. The amalgamation of 60's meets sporty chic is superb. The details are divine with dresses sporting billowy sleeves and elegant ruffles at the right places. The 60's style pant suits and dresses flowed but in a very modern way. The snakeskin prints in colorful hues were edgy but classy. The graphic prints were Pucci-esque but again felt very current. Of course, as a jewelry girl, my favourite part of the show was the tone on tone bejewelled chokers!!! The colors ranged from bright pink, lemon yellow, aqua blue, emerald, coral to ethereal white and of course, basic black. Gucci is definitely at the top of my list!! (I know, in the post below I talk about Burberry being my favourite. Hehe! I still love the metallics but right now - Gucci rules!!!).
